The European Union Chamber of Commerce in Korea (EUCCK) will be hosting its first seminar this year, on ¡°Prospects for Korean Real Estate Market 2007¡± on Thursday, February 8th, at The Shilla Hotel.
The seminar which is being organized by the EUCCK Real Estate Committee will bring together top Korean government officials, foreign real estate investors, construction companies and real estate service providers.
The 27th committee of the EUCCK, which was launched in November 2006 is taking an active role to develop cooperation channels and mutual understanding in the sector.
¡°In recent times, Korea has emerged as one of the prime investment locations in the Asia Pacific region. As a result, its real estate opportunities are estimated to increase both for local developers and foreign investors,¡± said Mr. Jung Se-woo, Manager, Real Estate Committee.
?The EUCCK is therefore organizing this seminar to bring together all the important stakeholders in this industry to discuss the various opportunities and prospects for growth, he stated.
Mr. Jung noted that the seminar, which will be held at The Shilla Hotel, Yeong Bin Gwan /Ruby Hall, will commence with a welcome speech by EUCCK President Mr. Carl-Johan Hagman and congratulatory remarks by H.E. Norbert Bass, German Ambassador to Korea.
This will be followed by a presentation on ¡°The Korean Real Estate Market :Current Assessment & 2007 Forecast¡± by Mr. George McKay, Representative Director, Colliers International Korea.
From the government side, Mr. Yong-Suk Hur, Deputy Minister for Tax & Customs, MOFE will present the ¡°Korean Tax Policy to Foreign Companies Operating in Korea¡±, while Mr.Hwan-Kyun Lee, CEO, Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority will speak on ¡°Global Mixed use Real Estate Development Model-Development project in Incheon FEZ.¡±
In addition, Mr. Sam-Cheol PARK, Head ABS Affairs Team, Financial Supervisory Service, will give a presentation on ¡° Collective Investment in Real Estate in Korea: Present and Future.¡±
Last but not least, Mr. Paul Keogh, Head RREEF Korea, Deutsche Asset Management, will give a ¡°Regional Perspective of Korean Real Estate Market.¡± To be followed by a Q&A session.
Mr. Jung noted that all the speakers, who have been invited for this seminar, have been chosen for their expertise and in-depth knowledge of the real estate sector. By sharing their experience, they will provide valuable inputs for anyone who is interested in becoming an important player in the real estate activity in Korea, he said.
As many as 150 participants, both from Korea and abroad are expected to attend the half- day seminar.
The seminar will be followed by a luncheon meeting with H.E. Kim Moon-soo, Gyeonggi Governor, who will speak on the ¡°2007 Investment Policy and City Development Plan of Gyeonggi Province.¡±
